Javed Meandad is working In Center for People & Environ (CPE) as Research Officer. He is a dedicated researcher, practitioner, data analyst, climate change and meteorology expert. He has extensive scientific research experience for more than four years in disaster management, GIS and remote sensing for environment and development, climate change and projection, numerical weather prediction.
He is also serving as the Teaching Assistant at the Department of Meteorology, University of Dhaka. He is also a Program Director at Bangladesh Center for Analytics (BCA).
He pursued his bachelor in “Disaster Management” from Patuakhali Science and Technology University and his MSc degree in “Meteorology” from University of Dhaka. He also had another MSc in GIS for Environment and Development from Jahangirnagar University. His MSc researches were on “Study on the Relationship between Lightning Flash Rate and Cloud Microphysical Parameters derived through WRF Model” and, “Context of Recent Climatic Variability Trend with Representative Concentration Pathways: South-east Bangladesh Perspective”. He has some national and international publication on extreme weather (Lightning and Hail) prediction, climate change and projection using NWP models, climate smart agriculture etc.
