Kazi Azam

(Head) Program

Kazi Azam, is working in Center for People and Environ as Program Head.He is a development practitioner experienced in program developing, and implementation of DRR, Climate Actions, Livelihoods strengthening, Safe Migration and Emergency Response projects throughout long career of 25 years. Worked with international development agencies like Oxfam, Action Aid, Christian Aid etc. As part of innovation first ever in the country designed and led successfully index modeled climate risk insurance projects in 05 districts engaging insurers for compensating farmers’ losses incurred due to disasters.

Scaled achievements on disaster risk finance and livelihoods sustaining with deep understanding on context and disasters impacts analysis, applied measures for disaster risk governance, for contributing in evolving resilient communities. Developed comprehensive training curriculum, and IEC materials covering essential features of risk management and inclusive growth; endorsed crop diversities, and climate adaptive new technics for livelihoods opportunities in salinity intrusion locations, also established youth volunteer’s cooperative for commercially operational of safe water schemes. Conducted advocacy on equal participation and access to natural resource management in Khulna and Satkhira.
