Mahib Mahatasim is an emerging researcher and development enthusiast, completed his Bachelor’s in Disaster Management from the University of Dhaka. With an excellent academic track record Mahib combines scholarly rigor with real-world engagement, carving a path at the intersection of disaster resilience, youth-led development, and inclusive policy.

Driven by a deep-rooted interest in climate change, community resilience, and public health, Mahib has contributed to several impactful research initiatives with organizations like the Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh (CIPRB), Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), and the Centre for Disability in Development (CDD). His research portfolio spans topics such as disaster response self-efficacy, relocation resilience, youth in climate action, and urban WASH vulnerabilities. His first peer-reviewed paper is published in Progress in Disaster Science (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.pdisas.2024.100341), with another currently under review.

Beyond the research desk, Mahib is a dynamic fieldworker and a skilled project facilitator. He has led workshops on disaster awareness for marginalized children, managed field operations in flood-prone and climate-vulnerable areas, and served as rapporteur in high-level seminars. His toolkit includes data analysis (SPSS, NVivo), GIS basics, transcription, and visual storytelling using Adobe Premiere Pro.

Mahib’s leadership extends to campus life, where he has held executive roles in Disaster Management Studio, DU and serving as a junior ambassador to Japan under the prestigious APCC program.
