Asif Moinur Chowdhury is a climate change and development professional with over 15 years of experience in climate resilience, disaster risk reduction, sustainable livelihoods, and results-based program management in Bangladesh. As a core member of the Center for People & Environment (CPE), he contributes to the design, coordination, and management of multi-sectoral initiatives that strengthen institutional capacity and promote inclusive, locally led adaptation across vulnerable regions.

Asif previously served as the Project Coordinator for the national capacity-building program on “Institutionalizing Locally Led Adaptation Across Sectors in Bangladesh” supported by the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA). In this role, he was responsible for the planning and coordination of multiple national-level activities, including the Module Co-Creation Workshop on Institutionalizing LLA and several workshops with senior Government of Bangladesh officials on LLA and the National Adaptation Plan (NAP). His work involved technical and logistical coordination, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring the smooth organization and delivery of all training events.

With a strong academic background—MSc in Ecology (Germany), MSc in Environmental Science, BSc in Soil, Water & Environment, and a PGD in Water Resources Management—Asif has held senior program roles across leading development and research organizations. He has contributed to more than 100 training and capacity-building initiatives, supported major donor-funded programs, and published research with Springer, Palgrave, and other peer-reviewed platforms. At CPE, he continues to advance evidence-based, locally led, and people-centered climate adaptation and environmental governance efforts.
