

Asma Akter is a dedicated researcher with a strong background in economics, climate resilience, and community-based field research. She holds both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and has extensive hands-on experience in qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Her work focuses on demographic dynamics, healthcare, and inclusive policy development, with a commitment to advancing equity and sustainability in vulnerable communities.
At Center for People and Environ (CPE), Asma has contributed to and supported a wide range of interdisciplinary projects. She has worked on initiatives funded by the American Red Cross, German Red Cross, BRAC, LEADARS, Center for Disability in Development (CDD), and other national and international organizations. Her responsibilities include field supervision, extensive policy analysis, literature review, laboratory-based soil and water testing, community risk assessments, and technical report writing.
Asma has co-authored and presented research at national and international conferences. Her works include “Assessing the Effect of Soil pH, Moisture, and Organic Matter on Crop Resilience in the Barind of Bangladesh” and “Socioeconomic Disparities in Facility-Based Childbirth in Bangladesh: BDHS Data 2022” (DOI: 10.13140/RG.2.2.22348.73601). She has also contributed to studies on indigenous adaptation practices and socioeconomic disparities in healthcare access.
She is technically proficient in STATA, SPSS, SurveyCTO, KoboToolBox, Zotero, and NVivo, with a strong command of academic writing, research methodology, and evidence-based policy analysis. Her research is driven by a deep passion for development, governance, equity, and sustainability, with a particular focus on climate-vulnerable and marginalized communities.
