Gender, Equality, and Social Inclusion (GESI) Expert
Completed MSc degree at the University of Rajshahi in 1987 and obtained a Diploma in Rural Development from the University of Birmingham in 1995. In addition, completed several month-long professional training courses both domestically and internationally. Have been engaged in the development sector since 1991, working with organizations ranging from local civil society organizations (CSOs) to international NGOs. Worked with Oxfam in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan from May 2001 to 28 November 2018. Since then, I have been working as a freelance consultant and gender analyst, with a particular focus on gender, climate change, livelihoods, and intersectionality. My major clients include UNDP, UN Women, Plan International, Save the Children, Manusher Jonno Foundation, HEKS/EPER Switzerland, the American Red Cross, CPE, and others. Experienced, dedicated, and results-driven development professional, widely recognized within the sector. My areas of expertise include gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, climate resilience, humanitarian action, and organizational development. I have a strong track record of achievements in innovative program design, implementation, review, evaluation, and learning. Major consultancy and research work related to Gender Analysis include:
- Contribute to the design of Scenario-Based Gender-Responsive Climate Adaptive Livelihood Planning Module for UNDP official via IPTM.
- Conducted Formative Research for Gender and Power (GAP) Analysis for the project JANANI implemented by Save the Children.
- Involved in the study on Age, Gender, and Disability inclusion in Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation, Policies and Programs in Bangladesh for CDD and HI.
- Designed the project on ― Women ‘s Voice and Leadership (WVL) – Bangladesh, Phase 2‖ for MJF, which is funded by Global Aid Canada (GAC).

- Engaged as a National Consultant for UN Women,Dhaka, Bangladesh office, to contribute to designing the ‗National Resilience Program – II (NRP-II).
- Conducted Gender Audit of MJF, programs, and partners, which was funded by DFID.
- Led the lesson learn study on ‘Anticipatory Humanitarian Action to reduce flood impact on women and adolescents, implemented by Plan International and UNFPA, Bangladesh.

- Engaged 2 years as Gender Expert with UN Women, and BDPC provided technical support to the Ministry of Women Affairs under the National Resilience Project (NRP).
